Happy Friday, everyone!
And Happy All Saints Day to all who observe this Christian holy day.
My parents are visiting this week, and so I am passing on my regular Friday essay.
As a side note, this Friday’s essay should be my regular end of the month roundup on "ways I’ve played.” throughout the month. Yes, I know it’s Nov. 1st and technically the beginning of the month, not the end. I didn’t want to push last week’s Part 2 on imagination out another week. Also, in full transparency, I did NOT play well this month. I allowed the “cares of the world” to overwhelm and suffocate my brain.
Here’s to November and new opportunities for living, as C. S. Lewis says, “further up and further in.” :)
I did, however, want to pop in this week and share the reading plan for The Reader & the Writer’s next deep read, Persuasion, by Jane Austen.
Here’s the schedule. Thanks to my marvelous R&W better half, Rhea Forney, for making this flyer:
And if you’re wondering, our final R&W read for 2024 will be The Christmas Carol, by Charles Dickens. YAY! I can’t wait.
Also, in December, Rhea and I will be doing our Big Draw Episode. This is where we select the R&W books for 2025. Right now we plan to drop that episode on Christmas Eve.
I hope you will join us as we read and discuss Persuasion this November. As Rhea says, reading Jane Austen feels like “coming home.”
Have a great weekend, all. Read wide, read well. Live always in witness of the Great Story. :)
Much Love,
Shari
